Edition 03 · verified public data

Cybersecurity YouTube benchmark

Security buyers want evidence. Vague content has a hard time earning their attention.

Across 17 verified channels, the median publishing operation released 84 videos in the trailing year. Newer uploads earned 2.22 times the daily view rate of older work at the median.

Where viewers responded

5.06% of recorded views went to videos with a meaningful level of visible engagement.

Bimodal. Channels cluster near 100% or under 5%, so the median describes no real channel — use the quartiles, and use engaged_share_view_weighted when the question is 'what share of this industry's views actually land'. We count a video when it has at least 10,000 views and visible likes and comments equal to 0.2% of views or more.

The full range matters

One average cannot tell the whole story.

The figures below show the 25th percentile, the middle, and the 75th percentile. They give you a more honest picture of the category without turning the best or worst result into a target.

What to take from it

Use the benchmark to guide your next questions.

01

There is no single normal channel.

Performance varies widely across this group. The 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles tell you more than one average ever could.

02

Publishing pace is a choice, not a quality score.

The number of uploads helps you understand the size of the operation. It does not tell you whether the videos are useful or whether you should copy that schedule.

03

You can see response. You cannot see intent.

Public likes and comments show visible response to a video. They cannot reveal pipeline, paid promotion, click-through rate, retention, or buyer intent.

A note on the numbers

Useful evidence, with clear limits.

We leave out videos that are less than 30 days old because they are still gathering views. Public data cannot show impressions, click-through rate, spend, paid versus organic views, watch time, retention, traffic sources, or audience demographics.

Use this benchmark to spot the formats, topic gaps, and performance patterns that deserve a closer human review.
