Older videos are still working
Some have been earning views for years. Yet no one owns the job of updating titles, fixing weak metadata, or deciding what deserves another push.

Some have been earning views for years. Yet no one owns the job of updating titles, fixing weak metadata, or deciding what deserves another push.
On one channel, none of 61 recent titles matched the words a buyer would search. On another, it was zero of 85.
YouTube Studio shows one channel at a time. That makes it easy for your channels to repeat work or compete for the same searches.
This is not about effort. Your team may be doing exactly what it was asked to do: make more videos and keep the calendar full. The missing role is the person who can look across everything and say, Let’s make fewer of these and put more behind what works.
What the pattern costs
People watched and then did something. A like, a comment, a response of any kind.
Tens of thousands of views and almost no reaction. It counted as reach. Nothing came back.
Both results appear as views, so they are easy to treat as equal. They are not. The first kind is engaged reach. Across these 22 channels, 188 videos, just 4% of everything published, account for 98% of all recorded views. Almost no one responded to them.
Median across the 22-channel cohort. The range runs $0.49 to $4.05, and production costs sit at 1,500 to 2,200 dollars a video.
Forty-eight times the views produced six times fewer reactions. One response per 69 engaged views, one per 21,296 on the rest. Volume scales. Attention does not.
Split a typical channel's 196 videos into its best half and the rest. Both halves cost the same to make:
Same number of videos. Same budget. Six times the result. Every one of the 22 channels shows this pattern. Last year’s money is gone, but next year’s budget is still yours to choose.
The shift
Your channel sits on the same screen as Disney and Netflix. It competes for the same hour. Streaming now makes up 48.5% of all TV viewing, and people watch more than a billion hours of YouTube on television sets every day.
If your company publishes five times a week, you already have a network. The question is whether anyone is choosing the schedule with the whole channel in mind.

Nielsen Media Distributor Gauge, June 2026.Median engaged views per instance · 33 recurring formats, 14 enterprise channels
Every band declined between its halves, including the winners. Rank correlation between halves: 0.82 (p < 0.001).Why it works
We divided each recurring format into an earlier and later group. Weak formats usually stayed weak. Strong formats usually stayed strong, then began to fade in a pattern you could see.
That makes the report useful for the next plan. It does not just say, “This worked.” It helps you ask, How much life does this idea still have?

How we work together
We return the first findings in five business days.
Over four weeks, we organize the video library and show you where to focus.
Before production starts, we check whether each planned video has earned its place.
We compare our recommendations with what actually happened.
Start with the free diagnostic. You will see your own numbers before anyone asks you to sign an agreement.
We organize the full video library, compare formats and costs, review search coverage and metadata, and give you a focused 90-day plan. If you continue, half the audit fee is credited against your first three months.
We update the audit every month, review videos before they are approved, track your benchmark position, and show your team what changed each quarter.
Built for larger channel groups, regional teams, multiple languages, or a specific set of competitors. We bring the findings together in clear reports for your leadership team.
Additional channels beyond three are $1,500 per channel each month. There is no platform fee, and the price does not rise during the agreement.
You manage three or more channels, publish at least weekly, and need to explain what a meaningful production budget is actually producing.
You are a single-channel creator, want another dashboard, or only need support for videos that have already been approved.
No. The diagnostic and benchmark use public data only. Owner OAuth can add watch time, retention, traffic sources and demographics in a paid engagement. Impressions and impressions CTR are not available through any API.
Studio is excellent for a single channel. It cannot combine a portfolio, compare it with a category, or score videos before they are produced.
Most agencies are paid for each video they make. Our fee does not rise when you publish more, so we can tell you when a format is no longer worth the time or budget.
Yes. We can produce the work, or work alongside your current team. Because we start with the evidence, we can plan fewer, more focused shoots and help keep costs under control.
No. We focus on what to make next and which useful videos in your existing library are worth updating.
Metadata and chapter work can show up in weeks. Changes to future videos show up in the next production cycle, often one to two quarters. Updating older videos is usually the fastest place to start.
We use public data and return the diagnostic in five business days. You can use the findings whether or not you ever hire us.
